Radio

Today I was listening to radio. I was switching between channels. While doing this, I observed one thing which I think relates to our life also. That thing is "the problem of options and choices."

I tuned into one station, that station was playing one of my favorite songs, so I listened to that for a few seconds, then a thought came into my mind. I thought "Hey, why are you listening to this song?, Come on , check other stations, they might be playing your MORE favorite song. I changed the channel. I kept on changing the channels but none of them were playing my favorite song so finally I came back to the original channel on which I was listening to a good song. But, when I came back to that channel, the song was almost over and I couldn't enjoy that."

So, what I learned from this incident is that whenever we get what we like then we must be happy with that , what others have got is none of our business.

Someone can counter my argument by saying that "This was just one case that I didn't find MORE favorite song from any other radio station, what if I could have found the MORE favorite song? It also holds its own probability."

I will answer this argument just by asking "can you define MORE?"

I know, no one can answer that question. The mentality is that the more we get the more we wish and in this endeavor many times we tend to loose what we had before and in the end we have nothing left.

Someone can also ask that "Risk is necessary in the life. We cannot achieve anything without taking risk. One must not be complacent."

I totally agree with this point. One must take risk. But, the risk must a calculative one. One must know the reason behind that risk.

If you are sacrificing one of your favorite songs in search on any other RANDOM favorite song the that risk is meaningless. Yeah, sometimes you will be successful but there are many times you will loose what you have.

Instead of this what I think is, "I am listening to one song, and I want to listen to another PARTICULAR song, the song which is clear in my mind, the song for which I can afford to sacrifice the present song, if this clarity is there , then I will go for searching that song at the cost of the current song."

This trade off is necessary.

Wow, today I wrote a post on some different subject. I don't know what this subject is but I am happy. I am eager to know my readers' views, suggestions and questions for this post.
